POWER STORAGE MANUFACTURING FACILITY ANNOUNCED FOR METHIL

Applied Intellectual Capital ("AIC") (AIM: AINC) is pleased to announce that,
following the purchase of ITI Scotland's interests in Plurion Limited
("Plurion"), a 945 square metre state-of-the-art manufacturing facility is being
planned at the Fife Energy Park in Methil, Scotland. The site has been
extensively developed by Scottish Enterprise and Fife Council in recent years.

The new facility, which will complement Plurion's existing research laboratory
at Glenrothes, will enable the company to progress its high capacity energy
storage commercialisation project to the production stage.

Plurion was established in 2005 to develop and commercialise a novel and cost
effective large-scale battery storage system. After considering several sites
across Europe, the company has chosen Fife Energy Park as its preferred location
for manufacture due to the site's growing reputation in the field of renewable
energy-related fabrication.

AIC also intends to use the facilities at Glenrothes and Methil to further
develop its other electro-chemical technologies. Significant commercial
interest has already been shown in its highly innovative EverClear and RedOx
technologies. These technologies are being used to purify waste material from
mines (EverClear) and to convert ligno-cellulosic waste into ethanol and other
bio-fuels (RedOx).

Mike Woodroffe, Chairman of Plurion, commented:

"This continues Plurion's excellent relationship with Scottish Enterprise, which
has done tremendously well to rejuvenate the Methil site so quickly, which now
has all the infrastructure and facilities that we could wish for. As Plurion
accelerates its development and as AIC's other technologies also attract
attention and investment, we believe this will provide a significant boost to
the local economy."

Willie Johnston, of Scottish Enterprise added:

"We are delighted that Plurion will be taking premises at Fife's Energy Park.
It is a significant endorsement of our decision to commit resources and
investment to the site. Their technical requirements were pretty stringent, so
the fact they have committed to this site is a mark of how well the Energy Park
is perceived to be meeting the needs of today's growing renewable energy sector.
We look forward to a long and happy association with Plurion."

NOTES FOR EDITORS

About AIC

AIC is an AIM listed company that funds, develops, patents and commercialises
electrochemical and advanced separations technologies in clean energy,
electricity storage, water treatment, metals recovery and other emerging
markets. AIC listed on AIM in January 2007 and currently has a market
capitalisation of approximately £107 million.

About Plurion

Plurion was established to develop and subsequently commercialise a novel and
potentially highly cost-effective technology for high capacity electricity
storage. Plurion was attracted to Scotland, to develop its innovative and
revolutionary large-scale battery system by ITI Scotland's programme for
attracting new technologies to the Country.

Plurion owns the exclusive rights to a type of Flow battery (or RedOx battery)
developed by AIC. AIC provided initial funding to develop Plurion's technology.
The Directors believe that Plurion is in a strong position to exploit the
growing market for high capacity electricity storage.

UPDATE ON PLURION

Applied Intellectual Capital ("AIC") (AIM: AINC) is pleased to announce that it
has reached an agreement with ITI Scotland ("ITI") to purchase all of ITI's
interest and rights in the Plurion joint venture between ITI and AIC ("Plurion")
for a sum exceeding ITI's investment. This agreement has resulted in AIC
holding approximately 80% of Plurion's share capital on a fully diluted basis.

Plurion has been working with ITI and AIC over the last two years on a research
programme for the development of Flow Battery technology. A fully developed
version of this technology would be capable of storing megawatt hours of
electrical energy for later distribution. Applications of this technology would
be of particular relevance to smoothing the availability of electricity from
renewable energy sources such as wind and also deferring power network
infrastructure expenditure.

Plurion is working with AIC on a Research and Development programme to move its
technology from bench top to commercial scale and has built a test facility at
Glenrothes in Scotland. This facility is capable of testing and demonstrating
flow batteries of up to 250kW in capacity. Plurion's product development is
nearing completion and once key milestones have been achieved Plurion will
establish manufacturing facilities.

A further announcement will be made in due course.

Dr Stephen Clarke, CEO of AIC, commented:

"We are excited about the potential of Plurion's technology and the opportunity
to take a bigger role in scale-up and production. Our decision to move Plurion
into a potentially key renewable energy market such as Scotland has been fully
justified and we have been pleased with our association and working relationship
with ITI Energy and Scottish Enterprise. Similarly, we have been impressed by
the resources and infrastructure available in Scotland."

REGIONAL SELECTIVE ASSISTANCE MADE AVAILABLE TO PLURION

Applied Intellectual Capital ("AIC") (AIM: AINC) is delighted to announce that
up to £4.8 million pounds of Regional Selective Assistance has been made
available by the Scottish Executive to Plurion Limited, in which AIC is a
significant shareholder. Regional Selective Assistance is intended to encourage
development in a particular geographic area. These funds will be available once
Plurion has started to invest in the creation of a production facility in Fife.
Under its present plans, this is expected to occur in the next two years.

Although AIC holds a 75% equity stake in Plurion, ITI Scotland was granted
supervisory control over Plurion through a joint venture agreement, in return
for a commitment to provide Plurion with £9.2 million of funding (which is quite
separate from the RSA funding described above). Plurion is neither consolidated
as a subsidiary nor equity accounted in AIC's consolidated audited accounts.

Plurion has a test laboratory at Glenrothes. Plurion is working with AIC on a
Research and Development programme to move its technology from bench top to
commercial scale.

Dr Stephen Clarke, CEO of AIC, commented:

"The availability of RSA funds from Scottish Enterprise is excellent news for
everyone associated with Plurion. We can now expect a significant acceleration
of the proving stage of the technology and a scaling up of production. This
will help to achieve a broader understanding of Plurion's technology and its
potential to deliver meaningful energy storage solutions."

Mike Woodroffe, Chairman of Plurion, added:

"We are delighted with the RSA award, which strengthens Plurion's financial
position. Plurion is an excellent example of Scotland's success in attracting
high technology development into Scotland. Plurion will transform the economics
of using renewable intermittent energy resources by making available a battery
big enough to make storage commercially attractive."
