Plurion's proprietary technology allows it to develop flow batteries that offer significant benefits over competing flow batteries.These benefits include higher cell voltage, higher electrolyzer power, and equivalent or higher electrolyte energy capacities than other flow battery technologies. Each of these benefits are compared in the charts below.

Another significant advantage is that Plurion's proprietary electrolytes were designed to be chemically compatible and osmotically balanced. This means that Plurion is able to deliver products that do not require electrolyte makeup, rebalancing, or periodic recycling. These "fill-and-forget" electrolytes eliminated the need for onsite operators and form the basis of our "plug-and-play" approach to electricity storage.

Note: Zinc bromine systems are typically limited to one to two hours of discharge capacity by the form and thickness of the zinc layer deposited at full charge. Plurion’s zinc chemistry is fundamentally different from that of zinc bromine, and this capacity limitation does not apply.  Consequently, Plurion’s zinc, vanadium/vanadium, and sodium bromine polysulfide chemistries each have constant incremental electrolyte costs, whereas zinc is limited to approximately two hours per complete system.
